2023.04.08 Plasters Cemetery

The Plasters Cemetery is located on a summit along the Jeb Stuart highway in Vesta/Meadow of Dan, VA. The highway in this area is being widened with much excavation on one or the other side of it including between the cemetery and the highway. The GPS/direction finder let me to a bunch of thorny bushes (also shown on Google maps) but I finally walked to the peak of the his and found the cemetery at the very top.

A large memorial marker at the edge of the cemetery memorializes German pioneer Michael Plasters and his sons Conrad and Claibourne. Looking online at Ancestry.com information, it appears that Michael had threes wives and the youngest of all his childres, John Riley Plaster, is the father of Wllm T. Henderson (WTH) Plaster in Enochville (he also being the youngest of his siblings). WTH is Louis A. Plaster’s (Peepaw’s) grandfather.

What is not stated on the memorial marker is where Michael and his sons are buried, so that research continues. I spoke with one woman in the area associated with the cemetery and she provided a couple of other names that I could call to find out more.
